After sending Mom and Dad home, I had another trip up my sleeve…I was en route to Sydney! No better time than the present to explore Australia’s other major city (arguably the more famous of the two). This trip’s blogs aren’t exactly in chronological order, this post will have my first and last two days, then a separate post will be up for my time in the Blue Mountains. A little confusing, but I think it’ll work 😉.

I’m finally getting a chance to wrap up my latest adventure! Tasmania was a lot more cold and mountainous than I was expecting, though I’m not sure what I was expecting. I booked a tour, so only when it was time to pack did I do my three minutes of research to check the weather forecast and the suggested packing list from the tour company. I taught my last day of 2023, and headed straight to the airport from school. Packing light meant I could bring my supplies for the trip to school and carry on from there.

I’m back from a week up in tropical paradise: the Whitsunday Islands. I got to spend time hiking, snorkelling, enjoying pristine beaches, and reading in the Airlie Beach Lagoon (why they decided to call it a lagoon is a question I can’t answer – it’s actually quite lovely). After visiting Dandenong Ranges National Park in October, I wanted to do Puffing Billy, so on Melbourne Cup Day, a stat holiday designated for horse racing, I went with a Canadian friend. Aussies clearly love their sports, because the last stat we had was in September for the AFL’s (Australian Football League) Grand Final.
