A month and half after I started my biggest trip yet, I’m finally getting around to recapping it. Life is busy around here, but here we are!

The Blue Mountains

Posted on 25-February-202422-February-2024 By Kate

A detour from my Sydney trip, the Blue Mountains were gorgeous (for the 15 minutes I got to truly enjoy them 🤣). Here’s days 3 and 4!

Sydney

Posted on 11-February-202411-February-2024 By Kate

After sending Mom and Dad home, I had another trip up my sleeve…I was en route to Sydney! No better time than the present to explore Australia’s other major city (arguably the more famous of the two). This trip’s blogs aren’t exactly in chronological order, this post will have  my first and last two days, then a separate post will be up for my time in the Blue Mountains. A little confusing, but I think it’ll work 😉.

Posted on 18-January-202418-January-2024 By Kate

I’m finally getting a chance to wrap up my latest adventure! Tasmania was a lot more cold and mountainous than I was expecting, though I’m not sure what I was expecting. I booked a tour, so only when it was time to pack did I do my three minutes of research to check the weather forecast and the suggested packing list from the tour company. I taught my last day of 2023, and headed straight to the airport from school. Packing light meant I could bring my supplies for the trip to school and carry on from there.

The Whitsundays: Part 2

Posted on 30-November-20233-December-2023 By Kate

The second half of my Whitsundays trip didn’t disappoint! Although the weather didn’t exactly cooperate with some of my plans, it was a great way to finish off the week. With that, let’s get to it!

The Whitsundays: Part 1

Posted on 27-November-20233-December-2023 By Kate

I’m back from a week up in tropical paradise: the Whitsunday Islands. I got to spend time hiking, snorkelling, enjoying pristine beaches, and reading in the Airlie Beach Lagoon (why they decided to call it a lagoon is  a question I can’t answer – it’s actually quite lovely). Here’s how I spent the first half of week:

Puffing Billy Railway

Posted on 16-November-202316-November-2023 By Kate

After visiting Dandenong Ranges National Park in October, I wanted to do Puffing Billy, so on Melbourne Cup Day, a stat holiday designated for horse racing, I went with a Canadian friend. Aussies clearly love their sports, because the last stat we had was in September for the AFL’s (Australian Football League) Grand Final.
