I’m back!

Guess who’s back (back again)

Hey y’all, it’s been a minute. And a lot has happened since my last post in May! In list form, cause that’s what I do:

• Applied for a position teaching food technology with the Department of Education (the vacancy that I was currently filling as a contract CRT)
• Interviewed for said position
• Accepted said position
• Filled out HEAPS of paperwork relating to applying for a different visa
• Went to Cairns for a week
• Marked 80 exams in a day
• Advertised, interviewed, and found a new roommate (old one was moving for work)
• Spent 19 days campervanning across the South Island of New Zealand
• Celebrated 1 year in Australia
• Started a new season of each dodgeball and volleyball
• Had my new roommate move in
• Renewed my domain registration (Kate is going to be remaining Down Under for a while longer!)
• Transferred my website hosting (0 stars, do not recommend)

It’s been busy! I don’t think life ever really slows down, it’s always “what’s next?” And that just drives home for me that I need to make time each day to enjoy the life I have. Some stuff I’m grateful for lately:

• My friends, coworkers, and students
• The fireplace at my new favourite cafe
• My kitchen (I bought an apron!! It really feels homey now!)
• My morning walks with the crows and magpies (they sing such lovely songs compared to their Canadian cousins)
• My newfound love of Cadbury Marvellous Creations chocolate, with popping candy, M&Ms, and jujubes
• My home (I even bought a snake plant! Fingers crossed I don’t kill it…)
• The sunrises! Now that the days are getting longer, I’ve been catching them on my morning walks and I’ve been leaving the house earlier to be able to spend time just staring in to the abyss
• Spending more time on creative outlets other than the blog (baking, crocheting, arts and crafts!)

I still plan on blogging, thought I’ve clearly got some catching up to do. Posts may be a bit sporadic for the next bit, but hopefully back to my regularly scheduled programming now that I’ve got this website thing kind of sorted out.
