Melbourne’s public transit network blows Winnipeg’s out of the water. There are three modes of transit: trains, trams, and buses. The train’s novelty has yet to fade. It took me a couple trips, but I like to think I’ve got the hang of it now!
(more…)The roommate search
I’m glad to say I’ve found a place to call home! The search was intense and draining. Between choosing a suburb, finding a person who was responsive on flatmates.com.au, coordinating a time to meet, then assessing the meeting after (because I can’t not overthink), it’s such a relief to know I’ve got my long-term accommodations lined up.
(more…)My best day yet
My world is CHANGED. I accepted a position at a school for Thursday after checking the location that it wasn’t too far of a commute. Then I did a little more research into the school. It was a Catholic school. I’m not Catholic.

As I gear up for this trip, I’m starting to think about all I want to see and do in southern Australia after I land in Melbourne. This list is just a starting point, and what I’m most excited for from afar. Once I start to explore on my own, I know the list will grow faster than I can check things off of it!
The list right now:
(more…)Hello world!
This my first post. I’m new to this whole blogging thing, but there’s no time like the present. And besides, now that the first one is out of the way, the rest should be easy, right?
I’m still in the process of building my website, and learning so much courtesy of Google about WordPress. I hope to post roughly weekly once I am down in Australia. In the mean time, you might see some posts about preparations I’m doing, places I want to visit, and whatever else tickles my fancy.
